It is not possible to arrive at the true and accurate assessment of a person's worth by simply looking at his or her physical appearance. Any accurate and true assessment of any body worth must be based on an understanding of that person’s godly nature. This simply means that a person’s true worth can be determined by how much interest he or she has in the things of God, rather than by the outward behaviour he or she exhibits on a daily basis. It is this very interest in doing the will of God that God himself treasures most in the lives of the human beings he has created because with this interest in the things of God, we become like God. Becoming like God is the perfection of the whole process of living.
The Holy Bible was written and handed over to us to make us know God, to know how to relate with him, and to enable us exercise our dominion over creation from the throne of grace. What is pride? One may ask. By pride I do not mean that unreasonable feeling of superiority over others. By pride I mean a recognition of the dignified position that God has given to men to rule the world and to help bring our fellow men to the likeness and image of God which we ourselves already have. Adam knew that something very significant left him in that garden after he violated the law of his human pride. And how does one violate the law of his human pride? Simply by going against the will of God.
In Psalm 119: 12-16 the Psalmist cried out “O Lord, show me your precepts, show me your statutes that I might not digress. Digression leads to God’s aggression. It is true that our God is kind and merciful, it is true he is love. But it us also true that we fall from our exalted position when we neglect his word. So take your dignified position by paying heed to the word of God.
